My studio is located on the North Shore of Massachusetts overlooking a 2 mile stretch protected coastline of Nahant Beach.
The incoming waves were used as a reference for this piece. The rushing waves move forward to the viewer with energy and emotion, while tones of pink and Naples yellow highlights the shore as distant light on water.

Energetic hues of orange dance in a burning sky reflecting on a black sea. This painting is from a beautiful sunset I experienced and photographed of the sun dipping behind a distant island. I woke up before sunrise that morning, meditated on the beach surrounded by buzzing hummingbirds and the sound of the ocean gently whispering along the rocks. A hummingbird's wingbeat frequency generally ranges from 12 to 80 beats per second (Hz) during normal hovering and flight, depending on the species size, and can exceed 200 Hz during fast courtship dives. The sun sustains life on earth there for I entitled this painting, ‘Circle of Life’
